5 Best Places for a Sweet Treat

Treats in the Twin Cities

There are literally hundreds of places to indulge in a sweet treat this summer. And let’s face it, as long as it’s creamy & smooth, I am good with just about any ice cream. But, if you are looking for a truly Minnesotan experience, there are a handful of places that are a must!

  1. MN Nice Cream

This place is probably one of the most Instagrammable spots in the city. If you haven’t visited this place full of colorful striped walls and adorable interior, now's the time. Here’s the best gyst: choose between 3 flavors (strawberry, chocolate and vanilla) all of which are either lactose free or vegan, then top it off with glitter, puppy chow, fruity pebbles, gummy worms or literally any topping you can think of! The crazier the better!

I will say that the inside is somewhat small, so plan on sitting outside if you have a big group.

2.  MilkJam Creamery

This is an adult’s ice cream paradise. One of their most well-known offerings is their adult floats, full of champagne, seasonal beers and raspberry lambic. If it’s too early for a boozy treat, then definitely try out their ice cream sandwiches, wedged between 2 Glam Doll Donuts. Need I say more?!

3.  Nelson’s Creamery

This is the absolute best spot for ice cream fanatics who can eat ice cream all. day. long. Nelson’s is the talk of the town for their insanely large serving sizes served at extremely cheap prices. I kid you not, their Small is big enough to feed 3 people.

Definitely get multiple flavors! You will be glad you did!

4. Cold Front

More than just a cute name, this place is serving up some great ice cream! One of my absolute favorites is their Espresso Affogato, vanilla ice cream doused with a shot of espresso. There is something so satisfying about this sweet treat! They also offer a “Snowball Flight” with 4 mini cones of any flavor - perfect for foodies who want to try a little bit of everything!

5. Sota Hot and Cold

Ever tried Thai rolled ice cream!? It’s such a fun twist on classic ice cream that seems to be ever so popular with youngsters. Not only is it mesmerizing to watch, it tastes incredible. I highly recommend trying their signature rolls - especially Cheeky Chocolate, yum!!
