Father's Day in the Twin Cities 2019

June 12

How it is already Father’s Day is beyond me! I swear this year is flying by!! If you, like me, opt for activities rather than gifts, then this list is perfect for you! These are some fun things you can do with dad this weekend to make him feel special.

1. Play a round of (mini) golf

Take him for a round of mini-golf at Can Can Wonderland. This is always a fun way to bring out some healthy competition and lots of laughs. Not to mention in a place where you are interacting with the sculptures, this is a total win!

2. Enjoy the arts

If your dad is into the art scene, you have to check out the Stone Arch Bridge Festival this weekend! Artists are coming together to share their craft with the public. Enjoy taking a stroll with dad and maybe even pick up a piece of art as a souvenir! The festival is Saturday - Sunday in Minneapolis.

3. Grab a slice & watch the game

Take him for a slice of pie at Pizza Luce and a game at Target Field! This Sunday the Twins are playing the Royals at 1:10 pm, which makes this a perfect daytime activity. If you are feeling extra loving, you could even make this a surprise, having him open a gift with a Twins hat at home & telling him to hop in the car because you are going to the game!

4. Listen to some tunes

If he’s a music buff, head over to Lake Harriet Bandshell on Sunday at either 2pm or 5:30pm for a free concert. Personally, I would bring along his favorite treats or stop for one of those subs from the local deli that he loves so much before making it to the concert.

5. Kick back with a beer in hand

Take him for a cold one. Sounds simple, but I’m pretty sure all Dads would love spending time with their family while sippin’ on an ale. Able Seedhouse + Brewery and Badweather Brewing are just some of my fav’s.

Let me know your plans for this weekend & if there is anything other locals should add to this list!
