7 Minnesota State Parks Perfect For Hiking

My family travels to the North Shore every year.  We usually see the sign for a hike and stop if we have time.  This year I made everyone promise to do 3 hikes.  We had so much fun!  Listed in this post are the 7 Minnesota State State Parks.  Scroll to the bottom to get a map with all 7 locations!  

Gunflint Trail: Located in Grand Marais.  Named one of the world's "50 Places of a Lifetime" by National Geographic.

Gooseberry Falls State Park:  The most visited state park in Minnesota. Don't forget you camera!  There are 5 waterfalls waiting the state park.

Temperance River State Park:  Located one mile North of Schroeder on Hwy 61. Hike to Hidden Falls or the summit of Carlton Peak

Cascade River State Park:  Located 10 miles southwest of Grand Marais.  You can view Cascade Falls just off the highway.

Judge C.R. Magney State Park:  14 miles northeast of Grand Marais on Highway 61. Hike 2.5 miles round-trip next to Brule River to see Devil's Kettle Falls.

Grand Portage State Park: Located in Grand Portage, 45 minutes northeast of Grand Marais.  Here you will find Minnesota's largest waterfall.  120-foot High Falls of the Pigeon River.

Tettegouche State Park:  Located on the Baptism River.  Tettegouche is the largest state park on the North Shore.  You can hike, rock climb, kayak, ski and camp!  There are six inland lakes and four waterfalls.
