FIVE BEST THINGS ABOUT THE X GAMES

Minneapolis has so many fun things to do year round.   My family was so excited to go to the X Games Minneapolis last year.  I have a little guy who was in complete awe of the athletes.  We were even more excited when I received a phone call from ESPN to help cover the X Games 2018. Here are my top 5 reasons I love the X Games:

1.)FAMILY FRIENDLY

100% Family-fun!  Make a day out of this event!  Eat at the concessions, watch the competitions, join the action via social media.  Don't forget to check out X Fest for hands on fun.

2.)AFFORDABLE

Tickets start at $20 for general admission & $50 for a three-day pass. Multi-day admission, several levels of hospitality, suites and travel packages are also available for purchase.

3.)SHRED HATE

In 2017 X Games launched Shred Hate, a bullying prevention program that aims to increase awareness about the bullying epidemic and actually reduce bullying in schools.

  • Nearly 1 in 4 students report being bullies during the school year.

  • Sports can be both a cause and a refuge from bullying. Taunting and name calling on the field and in the locker room has long been a source of bullying

  • However, action sports can be a positive avenue for athletes who may not fit into traditional team sports.

X Games teamed up with NO BULLY to provide an innovative bullying prevention curriculum to schools in host states of Colorado & Minnesota.  The program also works with Crisis Text Line to ensure that people in crisis have an outlet.

4.)MUSIC PERFORMANCES

X Games Minneapolis will host performances from Kaskade, Brother Ali, Ice Cube and Zedd. These concerts will take place at the newly renovated GEICO Music Stage at The Armory.

5.) X Fest

X Games Minneapolis will showcase X Fest, a four-day interactive festival offering sponsor activations, Skate & BMX park, attractions, food and other activities for all ages.  Located at Medtronic Plaza throughout the main entrance steps to the U.S. Bank Stadium, X Fest will also include live music, athlete autograph signings, interactive games, giveaways and much more.
